We are currently seeking a highly skilled Avionics Integration Supervisor/Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for supervising technicians, inspecting, and ensuring the reliability and accuracy of avionics assemblies that are essential to our spaceflight systems.
Per Diem Information: This position includes per diem compensation, covering daily expenses when working away from home. Eligible expenses are reimbursed at local GSA rates when the work location is over 50 miles from the home base.
Position Details:
- Contract Duration: 6-24 months, with a possibility of conversion to full-time.
- Work Environment: Initially based in a shop setting on the Space Coast or Western Florida, transitioning to field work primarily at the Kennedy Space Center.
- Travel: This role requires up to 20% travel, including assignments at the Kennedy Space Center. All travel expenses are covered, and the role includes paid trips home every 28 days.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide technicians in the installation of avionic components and systems, ensuring compliance with operational standards and design specifications.
- Read and interpret work orders, diagrams, and wire lists for assembly planning and execution.
- Handle mounting and installation of components such as PLCs, HMIs, relays, and more in panel enclosures, and perform cable and electromechanical system assembly.
- Execute detailed installations, ensuring all avionic setups meet stringent safety and quality benchmarks.
- Conduct inspections, tests, and verifications against technical models and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve avionic system issues through modifications, rework, repairs, or maintenance.
- Adhere to and promote quality management system standards and continuous improvement in installation processes.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years’ relevant experience; advanced positions available for highly experienced candidates.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Ability to engage in physical activities required by field inspections and project walkdowns, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced technical training, industry certifications, and experience in aerospace or avionics manufacturing.
- Proficiency in harsh environment cable harness assembly procedures and related standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620, MIL-DTL-22520, NASA-STD-8739, J-STD-001, ANSI/ESD S20.20).
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Hours:
- Day shift, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, includes breaks and an unpaid 30-minute lunch.
